Winner Is Announced For Film Maker Competition

Steph and Charlie

Stephanie Jones from Bridgnorth is the lucky winner of the Thrills & Spills 3 home video clip competition.  This is the first time Thrills & Spills has offered the chance for budding film makers to feature in the DVD.  Entrants were required to send in a home video clip which would be relevant for Thrills & Spills 3, the team at Equestrian Vision then judged the clips on quality of camera work and hilarity for inclusion in the DVD.

Presenter and director of Equestrian Vision, Jamie Hawksfield said, "we were really impressed with the standard of entries for this competition, people had made a huge effort to send in some great clips.  Stephanie's entry stood out in particular as the footage was very amusong and a lot of thought had obviously gone into the camera work".

The prize for the competition also includes a day for the winner and a friend with the MBPtv crew filming at Badminton Horse Trials 2012.  Stephanie said "I am thrilled to win this competition, not only have I managed to secure a clip in one of the best equestrian DVDs of the year, I also get a chance to brush up on my filming skills and I can't think of a better place to do this than Badminton.  I will be counting the days until then".

Thrills & Spills 3 has had an amazing reception and has been deemed by three time olympian Richard Davison as "a wonderful celebration of excellence across the equestrian landscape... There is somethign for everyone in this DVD and I loved it... tears and laughter in one DVD - its lighthearted and inspirational, and even your non horsey friends will love this one".

Thrills and Spills is available from http://www.equestrianvision.co.uk/ at an RRP of £14.99.

Richard Davison Review Of Thrills & Spills 3

British Olympic Dressage team captain and three time olympian Richard Davison watched the great new Thrills & Spills 3 DVD from Equestrian Vision and this is what he thought of it....

"I don't like watching horses fall, so when I was asked to review "Thrills & Spills 3" I kept putting it off.  But finally on a Sunday evening in front of a roaring fire, I settled down and with some trepidation and pressed go on the DVD player.  My concerns soon faded away and I soon discovered that this is actually a wonderful celebration of excellence across the equestrian landscape.  It stars our favourite equine heroes from dressage, eventing, jumping and racing.  It's hunting section explains the background to the 'ban' and has action footage, including a head cam, taken while hounds are running.  It's a delightful DVD and I defy anyone who loves horses and top level equestrian sport not to have a tear in their eye at some point as they witness the marvel of our equine elite and the tributes of respect and gratitude displayed by their riders and trainers.  This is a rare opportunity to witness Pippa Funnell talking through some of her highs and lows.  Its the sort of conversation which for those of us that know Pippa, is typically honest and humble but is mostly kept between fellow riders at the coffee bar, and is an exeplary self critique of her performances.  There is something for everyone in this DVD and I loved it; so much so that as each of my sons and wife arrived home from their competitions, all at separate times, I couldn't wait to replay it to them, and like me I'm sure you'll love watching it over and over again.

Oh yes, there are a few harmless rider falls at the end, but they are incredibly funny and we all ended up in stitches.  So tears and laughter in one DVD - it's light hearted and inspirational, and even your non horsey friends will love this one".

This is the third DVD in the Thrills & Spills series.  Through the first half of the programme, relive many of the outstanding performances of recent years by great horses and riders such as Totilas and Edward Gal, Headley Britannia and Lucinda Fredericks, Shutterfly with Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum and Sea The Stars racing to the Derby finish line.

Then sit back for an armchair ride in the hunting field as you get the 'snaffles' view through the horses ears as you fly across country following a pack of hounds, its a breathtaking experience!

The final section of the DVD is the spills section when jockeys and amateur riders alike do their best to defy gravity!

The DVD is approximately 50 minutes in duration and has an RRP of £14.99 from http://www.equestrianvision.co.uk/
