Equestrian Vision Launches Burghley 2011 On DVD

Equestrian Vision, the leading producer and distributor of equestrian DVDs in the UK, has now released the Burghley Horse Trials 2011 DVD.  The eagerly awaited review DVD includes comprehensive coverage of the cross country, as well as dressage highlights and the show jumping finale.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary, the centrepiece of this year's Autumn classic of eventing was undoubtedly the retro styled cross country track designed by Captain Mark Phillips.

Day one started with William Fox-Pitt and his four star newcomer Parklane Hawk setting the standard with 39.7 points in the dressage.  With 33 fences and 45 jumping efforts on the 6,650 metre journey across Burghley's undulating terrain, Saturday's cross country was certain to tes both stamina and concentration.

The scene was set for a truly nail biting finish with William Fox-Pitt bidding to re-write the record books after his 5 previous successes on Chaka in 1994, Highland Lad in 2002, Ballincoola in 2005, Parkmore Ed in 2007 and Tamarillo in 2008.

Presented by Clare Balding. Approximately 102 mins duration.

This fantastic DVD is now available from www.equestrianvision.co.uk RRP £16.99.

Review - Enjoying Showjumping With Tim Stockdale

Abbey Wass, Editor of Essex Equestrian Magazine Hooked on Horses recently reviewed Enjoying Showjumping With Tim Stockdale:

"After seeing one of Tim Stockdale's lecture demos in person at Brook Farm Training Centre in Essex last March; I was really looking forward to watching this DVD as I know how entertaining and informative Tim is when teaching."

"Tim begins by promising some useful AND fun showjumping exercises for both horse and rider, he remembers something Harvey Smith once told him "you make your rosettes at home - you only go to shows to collect them." Tim then highlighted the importance of good basic flatwork: The foundation of any showjumper, and some of the exercises he rode were specific flatwork exercises that would help when jumping a course later on. Using training of a repetitive nature Tim shows how you can help improve the consistency of your showjumping and regularity of stride - and makes it look very easy.

Throughout the DVD Tim shares many of his tips to help with any level of showjumping. One was that "you don't change the course to fit your horse - you change the horse to fit the course!" He emphasised the need to jump courses at home set out with the correct distances, whether your horse is long or short strided, or you may get stuck when at a competition.

I found that a lot of the exercises concentrated on using your body to help the horse and improve the way the horse was going. When riding courses or fences on an angle or curving line, Tim explained "that your body has to sell it to the horse" and when he rode down a line of S-shaped fences it was obvious what he meant as his line was so smooth and he made it look very easy!

Throughout the film, the exercises progressed to become more complex - from poles on the ground to lines of fences to fences on a curling line to a "clockface" - which means that whatever your level of training there will definitely be an exercise to help you.

Another plus, as with all DVDs by professional riders, is that you get a real insight of their top horses in training. Tim's advice throughout is invaluable, making this DVD a must for any budding showjumper, or if you want to improve your showjumping technique."

This superb training DVD is now available from http://www.equestrianvision.co.uk/ RRP £19.95, duration approx 105 mins. An EV Production.

New Release From Equestrian Vision

ROLEX FEI WORLD CUP JUMPING FINAL LEIPZIG 2011 DVD

Equestrian Vision, the leading producer and distributor of equestrian DVDs in the UK, is pleased to announce that the Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping Final 2011 DVD will be released for sale in the UK on the 22nd June 2011.

A thrilling Rolex FEI World Cup Jumping Final 2011 was fought out in the magnificent Leipzig Messe, Germany and the home nation saw victory secured by their own Christian Ahlmann and the 11 year old Galoubet A Stallion taloubet Z, a horse who has had a meteoric rise to the top.

Olympic champion Eric Lamaze from Canada and his brilliant horse Hickstead, defied statistics by rocketing up the leaderboard from 17th to 2nd and Holland's Jeroen Dubbeldam rose from 11th to 3rd on BMC van Grunsven Simon.

Taboulet Z only lowered one pole in 5 demanding rounds of jumping after the leaders on the final day, Marco Kutscher and Cash, faultless after 4 rounds, were distracted by the chattering crowds and had three down to drop to equal 4th, at a cost of some 30,000 euros.

An MBPtv production for Equestrian Vision with commentary from Philip Ghazala and Steve Hadley. The programme is approximately 104 minutes in duration and is £21.99 RRP.
