The World of the Horse - Burghley

The World of the Horse (WOTH) shopping pavilion will once again provide a great equestrian shopping experience at Burghley.  Following the cancellation of many events in 2012 owing to the adverse weather, Burghley is set to provide a feast of exciting things on offer for people starved of shopping opportunities.

In 2012 the WOTH pavilion at Burghley moves to a prestigious new site by the Lion Bridge and the members marquee, affording easy access for spectators and close proximity to the main arena.  This will be a highly visible position and will be widely signposted.

Burghley has attracted an exciting range of stands for the WOTH pavilion featuring new and innovative equestrian products - there will be something for everyone. Leading equestrian companies include Equestrian Vision, Mountain Horse and Maxavita, they bring their latest designs and innovations.  The thrilling Racewood show jumping and cross country simulator will be in the pavilion to test the riding skills of adventurous shoppers.  There will be advice on hand from a wide range of companies supplying everything from feed to magnetic rugs.

Also keep your eyes peeled in the pavilion for top riders, they will be popping in to see their sponsors and there will be the chance for autographs.

WOTH at Burghley will be hosting an exciting prize draw with many of the exhibitors supplying valuable prizes including a Mountain Horse Crew Jacket, FMB’s Magnet Medics, a Jeffries Wool Travel Rug, a 3.6kg tub of Feedmark Extra Flex HA Supplement and much more. One winner will win the entire prize haul.

The WOTH pavilion will be open for the duration of Burghley (30th August to the 2nd September) and is also at the Blenheim Horse Trials (6th to the 9th September).  The concept of WOTH has remained a favourite with shoppers over the years, it is all under one roof, (it also makes it a dry place to shelter in the rain!) and it is a leader in showcasing both new and innovative products and services at major equestrian events.

NEW DVD's for Eventing Enthusiasts!

Equestrian Vision is pleased to announce two new titles for Eventing enthusiasts!

A Decade of Badminton - Available Now!

A DECADE OF BADMINTON DVD
With the cancellation of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials 2012, director and course designer Hugh Thomas, international event rider William Fox-Pitt and BBC commentator Mike Tucker talk about the reasons behind this decision as well as the impact it had.   The programme then moves on to journey through the last decade of an event, reliving the great winning performances as well as the changes that have evolved. Badminton is a destination that is pivotal to the Eventing calendar, a place where dreams are either shattered or realised.
Approximately 52 minutes duration. RRP £14.99

Rolex Kentucky 2012- Available Now!

ROLEX KENTUCKY THREE-DAY EVENT 2012 DVD
57 combinations set out to win this year’s first 4 star event at the Kentucky Horse Park and as usual there was a strong overseas entry headed by the Land Rover Burghley 2011 winner William Fox-Pitt and Catherine Witt’s 12 yr ex New Zealand racehorse Parklane Hawk.
USA’s Allison Springer led the way after dressage being the only competitor to break the 40 penalty barrier but Fox-Pitt was well in touch and Derek Di Grazia’s cross country course brought out the very best in the British ace as he and Parklane Hawk flew round without penalty. A few time faults dropped Alison Springer below Fox –Pitt and that’s how it stayed after the showjumping as each of the first two lowered one pole. This was Fox – Pitt’s third major win in a row following Burghley and Pau in 2011 and the second leg of the Rolex Grand Slam. However, with the cancellation of the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton Horse Trials he will have to wait until Badminton 2013 to see if he can pick up the $250,000 prize on offer from Rolex.
Approximately 52 minutes duration. RRP £14.99

Equestrian Vision are offering a special price for purchases of both titles, customers who buy A Decade of Badminton DVD and The Rolex Kentucky Three Day Event DVD will benefit from the special price of £24.99 for the package.

FEI World Cup Dressge

The Reem Acra World Cup Dressage Final 2012 was clinched by Adelinde Cornelissen and Jerich Parzival, the defending World Cup Champions from the Netherlands,  for the second consecutive season when winning the freestyle final on home soil at ‘s-Hertogenbosch. Closely followed by Germany’s Helen Langehanenberg riding the 12 year old Stallion Damon Hill, losing out by only a single penalty mark.

FEI World Cup Jumping
An EV Production, the programme is approximately 98 minutes in duration, featuring the top 12 tests with a separate commentary and is £21.99 RRP.

The Rolex FEI World Cup Final saw an American rider triumphed for the first time in 25 years, as 52 year old Rich Fellers riding the 16yr old Irish bred Flexible, the oldest and smallest horse in the competition, won this prestigious title.  This amazing combination battled in a jump off with Swiss rider Steve Guerdat riding the scopey Nino Des Buissonnets after three horses tied going into the fourth and final leg. Flexible’s winning clear round on that final afternoon drew a standing ovation from the appreciative Dutch crowd who knew they had witnessed something special.

Mark Todd - Second Chance - Now Available

Mark Todd's brand new autobiography Second Chance is now available from the Equestrian Vision online shop at www.equestrianvision.co.uk for just £20.00 + p&p.

In this awe inspiring read, Second Chance, follow Mark Todd's progress from New Zealand dairy farmer to world beating event rider.  The story is told with typically laid back humour but also reveals the fierce determination, discipline and personal sacrifice which lies behind Mark's relaxed outlook.

Mark Todd is a double Olympic gold medallist, the only rider since 1932 to have won back-to-back individual titles, which he did at Los Angeles and Seoul on his magical horse Charisma.  He is also, with victories spanning 31 years, a four-time winner of Badminton and five-time winner of Burghley.  He is simply in a class of his own.

In 2000, after the Sydney Olympics, he retired from eventing to take up a career as a racehorse trainer and breeder in his native New Zealand, where he has had a great deal of success, producing a classic winner in only his third season.  However, a chance suggestion led him to challenge himself to make a comeback and to ride at the Beijing Olympics.  Not only did Mark Todd make it to the Olympics in 2008 but last year, at the age of 55 and 31 years after his first win, he won Badminton on NZB Land Vision.

Based now in the UK, Mark Todd is simply one of the best loved and most admired equestrians of all time.  His unsurpassable triumphs have been rewarded with an MBE (1984) followed by a CBE (1995) and then, in 2000, being voted the 'Event Rider of the 20th Century' by the FEI (Fédération Equestre Internationale).  Now back with a string of top-class event horses, he is competing once more at the very highest level and is amongst the favourites to win a third Olympic gold at London 2012.
